Community Based Treatment

Many of our pediatric services for children birth to age five take place in their educational environments such as preschool or other early care and education settings. Services are integrated into the child’s program and are typically provided in 30 minutes sessions at a frequency determined by the child’s individualized education team. Expressive communication groups for adults with developmental disabilities are provided in some work and community settings. Northeast Hearing & Speech clinicians work closely with the teachers and caregivers in each program to ensure consistent communication and carry-over of strategies to facilitate each individual’s communication skill development.

Clinic-Based Treatment

Clinical services are family centered, motivating, and fun. Parents of young children are strongly encouraged to participate in treatment sessions to see their child’s progress and learn strategies they can incorporate at home to improve the child’s generalization of skills. Older children and adults actively participate in their own goal setting, while our clinicians guide them to success. Services provided in our clinic are typically provided in 30-minute sessions, twice weekly.

We receive referrals from physicians, families, parents, Child Development Services, preschools, and school districts. You also can request services without a professional referral.
