Board of Directors
Northeast Hearing & Speech is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Representing our community, from clients to business leaders, these dedicated individuals bring their expertise to help grow our business to better serve the people of southern Maine.
Jeff Selser, Esq.
Jeff Selser is a partner in Fletcher, Selser & Devine, specializing in real estate, land use, and natural resources law. Jeff joined the Board of Northeast Hearing & Speech in 2001, was elected to the position of Board President in 2006, and is active in events planning. Jeff is also active in his community as a youth sports coach, and frequent participant on committees, boards and panels.
Stephan Woods
Stephan Woods is the Club Manager and Owner of the Racket and Fitness Center in Portland. After working with small businesses and commercial real estate in the banking field for 20 years with Key Bank and Bangor Savings Bank, Stephan followed his love of tennis to a new career. Stephan joined the Northeast Hearing & Speech board in 2006, was elected Vice President in 2012, and is active in events planning and fundraising. Stephan enjoys spending time with his family – Amber, Kevin, and his wife Chelsie.
Anne Cloutier, CPA, FHFMA
Anne Cloutier joined Baker Newman Noyes in 1996, is a principal in the firm’s audit practice, and specializes in healthcare organizations and not-for-profit entities. Anne joined the Northeast Hearing & Speech board in 2007, was elected Treasurer in 2008, and is active in events planning, finance, and fundraising. In her spare time, Anne enjoys photography, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Susan Adams
Susan Adams works for The Center for Agewell Programs at Southern Maine Agency on Aging (SMAA), which offers nationally recognized, evidence-based workshops to help older adults maintain healthy and active lifestyles. She joined the Northeast Hearing & Speech board in 2012, was elected Secretary in 2015, and has been active in events planning and volunteering at community events. Susan is also active in the South Portland school community.
Zoram Blancas-Ruiz
Zoram Blancas Ruiz is a Senior Data Analyst at Prudential Financial within the Group Insurance division. Zoram joined the Board of Northeast Hearing & Speech in 2014, is active on the Marketing Committee, and provides expertise in all technology-related matters. Zoram is also an active member of the Pine Tree Curling Club, which is the second curling club in the state of Maine.
Colin Baier
Colin Baier joined Bangor Savings Bank in 2016, where he is a Team Leader and Senior Relationship Manager in the bank’s Wealth Management division. Colin joined the Northeast Hearing & Speech board in 2020. In his personal time, he enjoys tennis, skiing, the beach and travelling Maine with his wife and two daughters.
Anne Marie Riley
Anne Marie Riley is a Rehabilitation Counselor with the Bureau of Rehab Services. She joined the Board of Northeast Hearing & Speech in 1997 and has been active in events planning. Ann Marie enjoys quilting and spending time with family and friends.
Wendy Ulmer
Wendy Ulmer is a former public school music and English teacher with 21 years experience. Prior to teaching, she was a Registered Music Therapist, working in both clinical and public school settings. Her company, Wooly Moon Studio, includes both original quilt patterns and two children’s books, in addition to three previously published books. Wendy joined the Northeast Hearing & Speech board in 2016 and has been active in community engagement. In her spare time, Wendy enjoys playing the piano, walking in the woods, and quilting.
Honorary Directors
David Johnson, DO
Dr. Johnson is a semi-retired osteopathic family doctor in Yarmouth/Freeport. He joined the Northeast Hearing & Speech board in 2003 and has been active in fundraising as well as the human resources ad hoc committee. Dr. Johnson was the founder of the Yarmouth Rescue and the Yarmouth Drug Rescue in the 70s, and has been the Yarmouth school physician. He held teaching appointments at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and provided a preceptor site, and did a 2-year teaching sabbatical at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has been active in his professional organizations at state and national levels as well as actively supporting Physicians for National Health Plan and Physicians for Social Responsibility. Dr. Johnson has also received Governors’ Appointments to several committees.
