The Northeast community lost a beloved friend and audiologist on February 22, 2024. Jamie Healy battled brain cancer with the same bravery and optimism she poured into her career, leaving behind a powerful legacy here at Northeast. Providing exceptional audiological service, Jamie’s deep empathy for her patients exuded an unmatched level of care, her personality a shining light for both patients and staff members alike.
Jamie leaves a legacy marked by 20 years of service at Northeast Hearing and Speech – a milestone celebrated in 2023 – during which she also mentored future audiologists, teaching future clinicians how to establish strong rapport and utilize it to provide the best care. After completing her Masters of Audiology at Portland State University in Oregon, Jamie’s first and only career choice was Northeast, a place she found empowered her to provide the highest caliber of patient-centered care that made her so beloved.
Reflecting on the memory of Jamie brings one word to mind: compassion. Respected and adored by patients and colleagues alike, Jamie’s care and compassion touched everyone, especially those she treated, who described her as the audiologist who truly listened.
Outside the clinic, Jamie’s passion for life led her to spend much of her time in the great outdoors, practicing yoga in the mornings, spending quality time with her family, and with one of her greatest loves, her pitbull rescue, Sasha; a love which she has requested be carried on in her memory via donations to the organization Pittie Possee Rescue.
Jamie is dearly missed by both her colleagues and patients. Her legacy lives on in every moment of care provided at Northeast, where her quiet lessons of empathy and compassion will always remind us how important it is to listen.
